Wes Sternenberg, a partner at Draffin Tucker, has been honored as Board Member of the Year by the Georgia Primary Care Association (GPCA). This prestigious recognition was awarded at the GPCA’s annual meeting during the Peach Award ceremony on September 28, 2023.

Draffin Tucker has consistently ensured financial compliance and solvency for healthcare organizations, including Community Health Centers (CHCs). Sternenberg, a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP) on Draffin Tucker’s team, not only excels in numbers but also passionately supports CHCs. He joined the Albany Area Primary Health Care (AAPHC) Board of Directors in 2013 and currently serves as Finance Chairman.

He is actively engaged in the healthcare sector, attending conferences and building vital connections within the health center network. This commitment allowed him to become a pivotal part of the AAPHC Board of Directors, where his financial acumen significantly contributes to the organization’s success.

“Wes’ knowledge base and initiative to investigate were crucial during the very tumultuous COVID pandemic,” said Shelley Spires, CEO of AAPHC. “His influence and work with AAPHC and other health center and look-alikes have assisted many with utilizing resources most effectively during this time. He is always willing to help or lend guidance and never asks for anything. AAPHC genuinely appreciates Wes, and he is an excellent asset to the health center family.”

Sternenberg’s commitment extends beyond his board duties as he actively participates in legislative sessions and advocacy for health centers. He is also involved with the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) currently serving on the Subcommittee on Health Center Financing and Operations and Consumer/Board Member committees for NACHC.

This recognition as the GPCA’s Board Member of the Year is a testament to Sternenberg’s leadership, financial expertise, and commitment to advancing community healthcare in Georgia and beyond.
