The proposed Medicaid Fiscal Accountability Regulations (MFAR) could result in severe Medicaid cuts to both hospitals and other providers in states that heavily rely on IGTs and provider taxes to finance the state share of Medicaid payments.
CMS is accepting comments on this proposed regulation. The Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) has developed a Georgia-specific template comment letter (see below link) if providers are interested in submitting a response. This letter should be placed on hospital letterhead and the highlighted information should be completed by the provider. This letter can be submitted electronically via the Federal Register website. Submission online can be done by visiting http://www.regulations.gov then follow the ‘‘Submit a comment’’ instructions.
Submission Deadline is Saturday, February 1, 2020.
See the GHA template comment letter attached (mfarmodelcommentletter_ga01-24-2020 (1).docx)
