Scott Schlau is a Partner at Draffin Tucker, where he has practiced public accounting for more than 18 years. Scott began his career with Baldwin & Associates in 2007, starting as an intern and developing a strong foundation in tax services before the firm merged with Draffin Tucker in 2023. His professional experience is concentrated in tax planning and compliance for closely held businesses, real estate partnerships, high-net-worth individuals, and foreign disclosure reporting. In addition to client service, Scott has contributed to staff training and initiatives focused on improving efficiency across the firm.
Scott is a Certified Public Accountant and holds the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance and Management Science from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s degree in Accountancy from the College of Charleston.
Outside of the firm, Scott is actively involved in the community and currently serves on the finance committee of the Lowcountry Land Trust. He previously served as Treasurer of the East Cooper Land Trust. Scott enjoys traveling, reading, listening to podcasts, and discovering new restaurants. He also values time spent with friends and family and is an avid supporter of the South Carolina Gamecocks.
