HHS High Impact Area Data Request Due June 15, 2020

InsightsClient Alert

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has plans to distribute an additional $10 billion in provider relief funds to hospitals that have been significantly impacted by COVID-19.  To determine the distribution, HHS is requesting hospitals provide the number of positive COVID-19 inpatient admissions for the period January 1, 2020 to June 10, 2020.

Hospitals must submit this data to be eligible for consideration in this second round of High Impact Area distributions.  These submissions must be entered by 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on June 15, 2020 via the vendor TeleTracking’s portal. Additional information on setting up a TeleTracking account and entering data into the portal are available on TeleTracking’s help website here.

HHS intends to distribute the second round of High Impact Area funding to address the comprehensive impact of the cost of providing care to COVID-19 positive inpatients.  Distributions from the initial High Impact Area funding will be considered in making payments under this current distribution.

Payments will be made at the billing Tax Identification Number (TIN) level.  Hospital systems with more than one facility under a common TIN must report the number of COVID-19 positive inpatient admissions for each facility. Reporting this information is accomplished by using the comma separated values (CSV) document available on the TeleTracking portal.
