Upcoming Events at VSU
Nothing from January 19, 2019 to April 19, 2019.

Supervisor, Douglas, GA
I chose Draffin & Tucker because, during campus recruitment, everyone at the firm went out of their way to make me feel welcome.
I really felt a connection with the people and the culture here.
At Draffin & Tucker, the people you work with are also your friends outside of the office. You always feel like you have a friend you can talk to.
I like the many golf course choices you have in and near Albany. I also enjoy golf and the other outdoor leisure activities provided by the Albany area.
I am former President and alumni of the Mu Zeta chapter of Beta Alpha Psi at Valdosta State University. I occasionally attend luncheons and speak at events the chapter holds.

I was immediately drawn to the culture during the interview process.
Draffin & Tucker offers a rewarding, as well as fun, place to work that not only looks after the ‘bottom-line’ but also its people. The company treats you like you are part of the family and genuinely care about your personal goals and success. You are not just a number at D&T!
The company strives for a friendly, team-oriented atmosphere and provides a caring and supportive attitude to all employees.
What I like about Atlanta is that it is a city of small towns. Beyond all the big city attractions, is a number of neighborhoods with distinctively different personalities. You can have the conveniences of big city living without all of the hustle and bustle.
I have fond memories of VSU and I try to get back for homecoming as much as possible.

I chose Draffin & Tucker because of the D&T culture. Everyone I met during the recruiting process was friendly and professional.
I was born and raised in Albany. My family and I like to visit Chehaw Park, a local zoo, and the Flint RiverQuarium, a local aquarium.
Also, I like how Albany is in a centralized location. You can drive 3 hours north to Atlanta, 3 hours Southeast to Jacksonville, FL, and 3 hours south to Panama City, FL.

I wanted my work to be in an industry that benefited society.
The challenges and fluidity of the healthcare industry had always interested me in that regard. Based on those interests, D&T was recommended by faculty and other students.
Draffin & Tucker is the most facilitating environment for growth I have ever been a part of. From staff to partners, I feel comfortable coming to anyone with a question or concern I might have. The culture at D&T made the transition from student to professional enjoyable and rewarding.
The great thing about living in Atlanta is accessibility. From concerts and shows to restaurants, it’s either in Atlanta or coming to Atlanta. Venturing out and trying new restaurants or listening to good live music is a matter of hopping in the car.
I take my VSU coffee cup with me when I travel out of town and have met VSU alumni all over the region. We have a pretty good representation, here in Atlanta, with window stickers as well.

Draffin & Tucker is great because everyone is approachable and willing to offer assistance.
I like that Albany is just the right size. It’s not too big but it still has plenty of shops and restaurants.

My dad has been a partner here for over 25 years. I have grown up with the people of this firm and know how much they value family.
I started my career at a different account firm in town and when the opportunity to become a part of D&T opened up, I took the chance, no hesitations.
I really enjoy the people I work with. I am a part of the commercial department and it is so exciting to see this department expanding like it has been.
I love to call Albany my home. I love that my family is here. It’s a pretty neutral place in regards to getting to the beach and visiting bigger places on the weekend; you can basically get to the beach/Atlanta/Savannah in 3 hours or less. The Albany community is very strong and comes together in times of need. There are so many volunteer organizations that you can join for whatever you feel compelled to volunteer for, whether it be animal rescue, feeding the hungry, providing after school activities for the needy children in the community. We live by the slogan “Only One Albany,” because it truly is a one of a kind town.

I wanted the opportunity to work in a bigger city like Atlanta while still belonging to a company that has a small-town and small-firm culture that is so important at Draffin & Tucker.
Also, their work/life balance is second to none.
We are constantly growing and changing. And everyone is given a voice as to what directions we grow into. Your life doesn’t revolve around your job but your job feels like a family.
Atlanta is an amazing city containing tons of art, history, sports, and entertainment. I personally enjoy playing tennis and basketball regularly and going to a Braves/Falcons/Hawks game around once a month.
I visit VSU’s College of Business 2-3 times per year for recruiting events and to speak at the local Beta Alpha Psi meetings.
